MSJC men rout COD in conference matchup
Mt. San Jacinto College delivered a commanding performance Wednesday night, defeating College of the Desert 92-76 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference matchup. The Eagles showcased their depth and efficiency, improving their record while handing Desert another tough loss.
From the opening tip, Mt. San Jacinto took control, outscoring Desert 48-37 in the first half and maintaining their momentum with a 44-point second half. The Eagles' balanced attack and strong defensive effort proved too much for Desert, who struggled to keep pace.
Adrian Mosley led the charge for Mt. San Jacinto, scoring 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting while adding eight rebounds and three steals. Corion Long provided a spark off the bench, hitting all four of his three-point attempts to finish with 12 points. RJ Dawson also made significant contributions, scoring 17 points and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
The Eagles' defense was equally impressive, forcing 19 turnovers and limiting Desert to just 21.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Mt. San Jacinto also dominated the boards, outrebounding Desert 46-41, with Elijah Edwards grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds.
For Desert, Jamerson McClendon and Wilfred Weir each scored 20 points, but their efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Eagles' relentless attack. Desert shot just 43.8% from the field and struggled to contain Mt. San Jacinto’s offensive versatility.
